Visit the Elegant Castorani Winery

Podere Castorani is set against the stunning backdrop of Abruzzo, nestled between the Majella National Park and the Adriatic Coast. Located in Alanno, Pescara, just 30 km from the coast, this winery boasts a rich history dating back to 1793. A dedicated group of friends revived the winery, overseeing every aspect of winemaking—from grape cultivation and harvesting to production and marketing. Notably, all practices here adhere to organic farming principles.

No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used.

Taste the Unique Wines of Podere Castorani

The vineyards thrive on the sun-kissed hills of Alanno, benefiting from ideal temperature variations between day and night. Castorani wines reflect the essence of their terroir, showcasing exceptional varieties such as Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Cerasuolo, Pecorino, Passerina, Cococciola, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. These grapes are crafted into high-quality red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines.

Explore the Temperature-Controlled Cellar

The winery's heart lies in its expansive 5000 sqm underground cellar, featuring a temperature-controlled drying cell. This facility is essential for producing Amarone-style Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Jarno Rosso, and Jarno Bianco. Castorani wines are known for their harmonious taste and well-structured tannins, making them favorites among wine enthusiasts.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Castorani Winery. Accommodations are 5 stars. The gardens and beautiful mountains surrounding the winery are magnificent. We went on a tour that included lunch. The winery is meticulously operated. Wine and food was great. Mattia made sure from the time we arrived until we checked out that all our needs were met. A wonderful place and experience everyone should visit.

Amorino wine is in our opinion one of the best value for money purchases in Canada.

Just WOW. What a setting for a birthday party. It's difficult to put into words just what a special, completely stunning setting this is for a birthday party. We enjoyed a full tour of the stupendous winery, followed by a tasting and excellent lunch and in the company of the winemaker and a director of the company. Amazing montepulciano wines which included a delicious desert wine. What a treat. The accommodation they have here is off the scale too.

The buildings, grounds, and tour were simply amazing! Our wine tasting was conducted by the vitner himself, and our tour guide was equal parts friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate! In fact, I've never WANTED to give a 5-star rating to a place more than I did this one - but, in the end, a winery is about the wine... and neither my wife nor I rated any of the 6 wines we tried higher than a 3 on a 5 point scale, so a 4 is the highest we could go over-all even though everything but the wine was spectacular.

Breathtaking views of the hills, exceptional welcome and helpfulness from everyone. Clarity and professionalism in the tour of the farm, respecting tradition while looking for an ever better wine and product. I pleasantly admired the cleanliness in all the departments of the farm. The selection of wines was excellent and all of them were spectacular. Special thanks to Mr. Enzo who created an exceptional lunch to match the excellent wines.
