A Legacy of Winemaking

Founded by brothers Robert and Jacques Venot, Gaec Venot has been a family-run winery for many years. Their passion for winemaking has been passed down through generations, ensuring that the art of crafting exceptional wines continues. In 1983, the winery became part of a Common Agricultural Group (GAEC), and in 2015, a new partner joined, allowing the estate to expand into additional municipalities.

Prime Location for Quality Wines

Situated between the Cote du Beaune to the north and the Maconnais mountains to the south, the vineyards of Gaec Venot stretch over 25 kilometers. The clay-limestone soil here is ideal for growing grapes, contributing to the quality of the wines. The region is home to several prestigious wine appellations, including Burgundy Cote Chalonnaise, Burgundy Cote du Couchois, Bouzeron, Rully, Mercurey, Givry, and Montagny. Varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Aligoté, and Gamay thrive in this fertile land, offering a rich selection for wine enthusiasts.

Arriving as a family somewhat by chance, we met Maxime who made us taste his wines: Côtes Chalonnaises, Givry, Bourgogne Aligoté, Crémant. Explanations on his profession and his practices, the local grape varieties, the latest news from the wine world, all without exaggerating the merits of his products. This allowed us to fully appreciate the moment and its good wines. Very good value for money.
