Il Borro: A Gem in Nature's Embrace

Set in the stunning Valdarno di Sopra region of Tuscany, Il Borro is a beautifully restored medieval village and winery that spans 1,100 hectares. This estate boasts fertile land, a unique terroir, and a mild climate, creating the perfect conditions for growing exceptional grapes. The vineyards here are known for producing distinctive wines that reflect the essence of Tuscany.

Commitment to Sustainability

Ferruccio Ferragamo, the passionate owner of Il Borro, has dedicated himself to preserving the estate's beauty since 1993. He views this commitment as “an enduring act of faith.” The winery emphasizes sustainability by utilizing local labor and eco-friendly practices, such as renewable energy and natural fertilizers, ensuring that the rich traditions and history of Il Borro are maintained for future generations.

Experience the Historic Cellar

At the heart of Il Borro lies its ancient cellar, one of the oldest in Italy, where Chianti wine was once crafted. This historic structure, nestled below ground, continues to be a vital part of the winemaking process. The estate cultivates a variety of grapes, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, and Chardonnay, producing an array of wines such as red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines.

The combination of the enchanting cellar, picturesque vineyards, and dedicated team results in high-quality wines that visitors can savor alongside delicious meals.

They are not just producers, but true wine enthusiasts!

Everything about this hotel is 5 stars. We have stayed twice and we’re not disappointed in any way. Staff went above and beyond

Stayed at Il Borro in the heart of Toscana, where everything feels like it’s straight out of a Tuscan daydream, local products, their own farm, and organic wine so good it practically sings you a love song. I had to leave (still crying about it), but I’d have stayed longer even with the staff playing a constant game of “Who Can Contradict Who” about the restaurant hours and menus. Honestly, a menu in the rooms would solve the mystery faster than Sherlock. But the dog-friendliness? Absolute 10/10 my pup was treated like a VIP (Very Important Pooch). It’s paradise, as long as you’re okay with a little comedy of errors on the side.

Small, charming Tuscan village. Nice to visit, description in English and then in Italian.

Last night with friends we went to dinner at Tuscan Bistrot. In addition to finding a well-kept and welcoming environment, important mentions must be made of those who work there. Starting from the kitchen, chefs Gianmarco and Pino, delighted us with delicious and carefully prepared dishes. Fabulous spinach and ricotta gnudi on parmesan cream and truffle flakes and the desserts... what can I say, a journey of flavors. The welcome and kindness of Nicola, Elvio and Letizia, who work in the dining room, made us feel truly at home, caring that we didn't lack anything and making us feel good. Thank you for making this dinner special, you made us feel at home. I really recommend trying it! We will definitely be back, sure to feel good again!

Il Borro estate is the best winery / hotel / vacation spot in Tuscany. We have had the honor to stay at this beautiful location twice and cannot wait to come back for the third time. Our last visit there was in August of 2024. We had the pleasure to stay in their Villa Mulino. WOW were we surprised. Comprised of two separate homes with a beautiful pool in between. It was so nice to take over the whole Villa. We played golf, wine tasting, enjoyed all of their restaurants, worked out in their gym. What a fantastic experience. If you get a chance make sure that you visit and stay at Il Borro. We shall see you there.
