Il Cocco Winery

We had a tasting visit and lunch at the agriturismo. We were very well received and learned the entire process of Brunello wine - Il Cocco. I recommend it!

Beautiful!! We stayed with the motorhome, there is no real motorhome area, but a plot with some spaces with light and sink... there is no drainage. the place is very cozy, the staff is very friendly and the food is very good, the wine they produce is very good.. the location is a bit out of town, but you can move very well with the caravan and what is very important at night you sleep peacefully... well definitely it is a place I would happily return to.

A farm surrounded by nature under a small forest of stone pines: magnificent! We ate there first: the kitchen is familiar, but everything is homemade and delicious, at an unbeatable price! (I am a vegetarian and I found my happiness). Then we did the visit + tasting with the owner, Giacomo. Impressive! Giacomo is a passionate, intelligent and very friendly person, who for 2.5 hours shared with us his passion for wine and the land, answering all our questions in English. I would need pages and pages to say it all and this is not the right place, so the best I can do is tell you: go ahead, it is worth it and a visit with wine tasting and local products lasting more than 2 hours in Montalcino for 30€/person is really not expensive!

It is a 15th century farmhouse with no neighbours. It has very few rooms and a beautiful landscape. The chef's kitchen respects the purest Tuscan tradition. The Brunello is excellent. They speak several languages. You can't miss it!!!

A real gem in the heart of Tuscany. Recommended for those who love nature, good food and good wine. Their products are of exceptional quality, and compensated by the warm welcome, make you feel at home. A place to return to.

Very nice and authentic place to stay. It is a farm, so there are some animals (cats, dog) but all very friendly. The room is OK, with modern bathroom and airconditioning, and other facilities such as a living room and kitchen (shared). There is also plenty of space to sit outside which is very nice. It is quiet outside because it is far from the roads. The owners are very nice, breakfast is OK. There is also a small restaurant and they offer tastings of the wine they make which is all very nice.

Place surrounded by nature and tranquility! Excellent hospitality, everyone was kind and helpful. The room we stayed in was beautiful, with a super comfortable bed and a brand new bathroom. Super breakfast with homemade cakes, fruit, yogurt, nuts, fruit juices and if you ask they will also prepare scrambled eggs for you. We recommend trying the wine in their cellar, the owner Giacomo is really clever and transmits all the passion of his work! Best place for wine! Organic and truly caring about biodiversity. Giacomo is very dedicated. They have had misfortune in 2023 (a fire and a hailstorm). Since they sell to private individuals directly: go there, taste and buy! The Brunello is among the best and it is good value for money, as direct sales keeps the prices reasonable. Currently 35 euro for the 2019 Brunello (a very good year!)

We attended a wine tasting in Podere Il Cocco together with a family of friends. We were warmly received, enjoying a wonderful wine tasting in a beautiful location at a charming, family-run winery. It was particularly impressive to see how these vines are cultivated in harmony with nature, resulting in exceptional organic wines. We felt very comfortable and wish Giacomo Bindi and his family continued success with their wines and a constant stream of satisfied guests! We would love to visit Giacomo and his team again and highly recommend this delightful family winery and their first-class Brunello wines!

We arrived at this farm-agriturismo by chance for lunch. The place is beautiful, the welcome is excellent and the dishes are simple but tasty. The staff and the owner were very kind and accompanied us to his cellar telling us how he produces his Brunello, which is also excellent. Highly recommended

Perfect place to stay with camper in Montalcino. We strongly recommend visit tasting with owner Giacomo. He is open to share his art of winery and taste of his wines is just perfect... Thank you!

We were there in a camper van. The wine tour was really competent and we learned a lot (we have already done a few wine tastings, but this one was really outstanding in terms of quality!). The only organic Brunello - WOW! The landscape and the house also have their charm. We have recommended the station to many people for 1 night and everyone has been delighted so far. However, you should have your own toilet and (if necessary) shower. We would go back anytime!!!!

This was second time I’ve been to Podere Il Cocco. Both times the experience had been awesome. Giacomo took time out of his day to give us a thorough fun tour and wine tasting at the same time. We later had a delicious lunch with some of his wine. We also shipped a case back home to Florida. The wines are excellent and Giacomo thoroughly explained each wine and all the requirements and testing by the denominatzione. We also met his little 7 year old daughter after whom he named his new sparkling wine! I highly recommend this be a stop if in the Montalcino area of Tuscany. Bob Boston

You can spend the night on the grounds in your van. The drive is relatively bumpy but doable. Very friendly welcome and the food in the restaurant is also very good! The only negative points are the regular banging in the vines (intentionally to keep animals away) you can get used to it a bit and the fact that unfortunately there is no shower available. However, these are both points that you are made aware of and so you are aware of them! I would probably go there again, then for one night.

What a fantastic winery. You can feel that Giacomo puts a lot of passion and heart and soul into his wine. We have often been on tours, both large and private, but Giacomo is unique. Such a nice person, and great wine too.

Magnificent place, spectacular views, peace

You definitely have to drive by! The winery is 2km off the road (gravel road) and about 10 minutes from the city center. Giacomo is extremely helpful and despite his lack of time, he gave us detailed advice and also gave us tips about the surrounding area. The wines are very good and are made by hand on site - all organic quality. You can also sleep on site (that's what we did) - unfortunately we didn't have time to try the restaurant. We'd love to come back next time - Ciao and mille grazie Giacomo!
