Savor the Heart of Tuscany with Organic Wines and Olive Oil
The Estates of Il Paluffo
Il Paluffo is nestled in the heart of Tuscany, spanning six hectares of organically farmed land. This picturesque estate features lush olive groves, vibrant vineyards, and a variety of ancient fruit trees, including peaches, apples, pears, and blackberries, alongside other native Tuscan flora.
Meticulous Care for the Land
At Il Paluffo, we prioritize the health of our land by maintaining a natural ecosystem. Our fields are covered with grass, and we minimize treatments and mechanical processes to preserve soil fertility. Following organic farming protocols, we carefully prune and tie our plants each spring. As the vines begin to sprout in March and April, we monitor them closely to prevent diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew. We use only the minimal amounts of copper and sulfur allowed in organic farming, supplemented with propolis and vegetable foliar fertilizers to strengthen the plants' defenses. By late summer, we assess the grapes through tastings and sugar content measurements, preparing for the harvest.
The Winery Today
Il Paluffo has received several accolades for its commitment to sustainability. In February 2014, we were honored with the Green Travel Award for Green Accommodation at the International Tourism Exchange (BIT) Fair. In May 2019, the Milan Chamber of Commerce and Milan Municipality recognized our environmental efforts with a special award. Most recently, in December 2020, we achieved the Eco Sustainable Hotel Certification from Touring Club Italia, reflecting our dedication to eco-friendly practices.
