The La Cedraia – Winery situated on the hills between Gavi and Novi Ligure in the Gavi DOCG area of Piedmont
The La Cedraia wine farm is situated on the hills between Gavi and Novi Ligure in the Gavi DOCG area of Piedmont. The estate covers an area of about 3 hectares, and half of it is planted with vineyards. Paolo and Marco Cremonini have a lot of love for the land, which was passed on to them by their father, Carlo. The winery aims for the production and development of a fresh and pleasant wine while respecting and protecting the environment of Gavi.
Ideal Conditions for the Vineyard
The vineyards are present on a slope and get sunshine the whole day. The soil has deep grey clayey marls that are perfect for the cultivation of Cortese vines. The night breeze and humidity provide the ideal microclimate here. The Cortese grape is used to make Gavi DOCG white wines that are of exceptional quality. The wines have the perfect taste and rightly represent the terroir of the Gavi region.
Their Manor House
The estate has a manor house overlooking the vineyards and is made of masonry techniques of the seventeenth century. It was recently renovated by plaster and lime paint. The company uses sustainable methods in all steps of winemaking to minimize the negative effects on the environment and climate of the area.
La Cedraia is certified by the VIVA Label of the Italian Ministry of Environment for its sustainable winemaking techniques.
The winery is dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the surrounding natural areas. There is great biodiversity and beauty here as far as the eyes can see and is a great place to visit.
