A Commitment to Sustainable Viticulture in Veneto
La Fornase is an agricultural company nestled between Rivarotta di Pasiano and Maduna di Livenza, established in 2011 out of a deep passion for agriculture and a profound respect for nature.
Winery Philosophy
At La Fornase, each team member is dedicated to their specific role, ensuring the production of high-quality, authentic wines that embody the essence of organic farming. Our guiding principle is simple: we nourish the earth to nurture the vine. This philosophy emphasizes sustainability, environmental mindfulness, and a commitment to human health.
We continuously seek innovative and eco-friendly practices. Our use of recovery atomizers minimizes the environmental impact of sulfur and copper residues. Additionally, we cultivate disease-resistant vineyards (PIWI) that withstand common fungal threats like peronospora and oidium. We also implement green manure techniques, sowing natural fertilizers along the vineyard rows to enrich the soil.
The Vineyards
The vineyards of La Fornase are situated in the historic area of the furnaces, which inspired our name. We prioritize soil fertility and the biodiversity that sustains it. The furnace of Rivarotta, established by the Chiozza family in 1860, revived the age-old tradition of brick production at Fornase vecia. A second facility, 'Fornase Nuova,' contributed to the company’s growth, employing around 2,000 workers and expanding its reach globally.
In 1988, the building was recognized as a cultural asset. Today, our operational and administrative headquarters are located in Meduna di Livenza, surrounded by our flourishing vineyards.
