Located just outside Venice, La Jara is a family-owned winery nestled between the Conegliano hills and the Piave River. For over 20 years, this winery has been dedicated to producing high-quality organic and vegan wines in the renowned Prosecco DOC region.
The name ‘La Jara’ reflects the Marion family's deep commitment to the land. Since 1891, the Marion family has cultivated vineyards surrounding the winery. In 1999, brothers Paolo and Massimo Marion took over, honoring their grandfather Pietro's legacy by blending innovative techniques with traditional practices. Their focus on organic grape farming and winemaking showcases their dedication to quality.
La Jara's vineyards span 50 hectares across the picturesque hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, extending to the banks of the Piave River. Here, the family cultivates premium grape varieties, including Glera, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Raboso, all grown under biodynamic principles. Bruno Marion, the patriarch, remains actively involved in vineyard management, ensuring the highest standards of viticulture.
The winery features a state-of-the-art cellar equipped with modern presses, temperature-controlled steel vats, and specialized pressure tanks. This advanced technology preserves the grapes' natural aromas and flavors throughout the winemaking process. In addition to sparkling wines, La Jara also crafts exceptional white and red wines, showcasing the diverse offerings of the region.
