La Jara Reflects a Century-Old Winemaking Traditions

Winery Name Evokes the Family’s Connection with the Terroirs
In the local dialect, the phrase ‘La Jara’ means commitment and dedication to the soil. Since 1891, the vineyards scattered around the La Jara Winery building belong to the Marion family. In 1999, Paolo and Massimo Marion acquired the winery and started making wines with immense devotion, following their grandfather Pietro’s footsteps. They adopted a blend of innovation, beautifully weaved with conventional methods, embracing an organic style of grape farming and winemaking.
Magical Essence of Prosecco and the River Paive
Expanded all over the splendid hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, reaching the river Paive, the grapes are planted with biodynamic principles. The Marion family owns 50 hectares of vineyards in the Prosecco region, where they grow top-quality Glera, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Raboso. Bruno Marion, the father of Paolo and Massimo, still spends time in the vineyards and supervises all the viticulture processes.
Technology & Expertise in the Wine Cellar
The cellar consists of modern presses, steel vats with temperature-controlled devices, specialized pressure vats, and other state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the fragrance, freshness, varietal aroma of the grapes remain intact through the wine production phases. In addition to sparkling wines, La Jara produces excellent white and red wines.
