A Winery that Produces 50,000 Wine Bottles from the Erbaluce Grape Every Year

La Masera, the Gist of Desire and Authenticity

Festooned by the splendid Morainic Amphitheatre of Ivrea, surrounded by woods and forests, La Masera is located in the province of Turin, Canavese. Five-hectare of estate-owned vineyards covers the municipalities of Settimo Rottaro and Piverone, where the winery team grows its flagship Erbaluce to deliver nine types of wines. The production line reveals the gist of passion, authenticity, and enthusiasm.

Childhood Dream Turned Into Reality

Five friends and their childhood dream – that’s how La Masera’s story started. In 2005, Alessandro, Gian Carlo, Davide, Sergio, and Marco, established the estate in Settimo Rottaro with a commitment to make Erbaluce Passito world-known. The word ‘Masere’ means a large wall that separates two fields from one another, similar to the one they have purchased. Over the years, the friends expanded the winemaking business and bagged their first award in 2010. Later in 2014, the Masera Winery hit international fronts with its Erbaluce wines.

Savory Wines That Reflect Terroir and Quality

All these years, the company mainly focuses on the cultivation of unique Erbaluce di Caluso. Some other vines of the estate include Barbera, Freisa, Vespolina and Nebbiolo. They produce top-quality white and sparkling wines, along with luscious dessert wines. The Viveron lake and archaic hills influence the climate and terroirs, setting a perfect atmosphere for grape farming and wine production. A walking tour of the production area, paired with exquisite wine tasting are some of the few things visitors should not miss.
