A Piedmont Winery Crafting 50,000 Bottles of Erbaluce Wine Annually
La Masera: The Essence of Authenticity
Nestled in the picturesque Anfiteatro Morenico of Ivrea, La Masera is located in the Canavese region of Turin, Italy. Spanning five hectares, the winery's vineyards are situated in the municipalities of Settimo Rottaro and Piverone. Here, the dedicated team cultivates the prized Erbaluce grape, producing nine distinct wine varieties that embody passion, authenticity, and enthusiasm.
A Childhood Dream Realized
The story of La Masera began in 2005 when five childhood friends—Alessandro, Gian Carlo, Davide, Sergio, and Marco—decided to share their love for wine. They established the winery with the goal of introducing Erbaluce Passito to the world. The name 'Masera' refers to a large wall separating two fields, reminiscent of the land they acquired. Over the years, the friends expanded their winemaking efforts, earning their first award in 2010 and gaining international recognition for their Erbaluce wines by 2014.
Wines that Reflect Terroir and Quality
La Masera focuses on cultivating the unique Erbaluce di Caluso grape, alongside other varietals such as Barbera, Freisa, Vespolina, and Nebbiolo. The winery produces high-quality white wines, sparkling wines, and delightful dessert wines. The nearby Viveron Lake and ancient hills influence the climate and terroir, creating ideal conditions for grape growing and wine production. A guided tour of the vineyards, paired with a tasting of their exquisite wines, is an experience not to be missed.
