La Molara, at the Foot of Monte Pidocchio
La Molara is located in the Medina Valley of Calore, alongside the river Calore, in Irpina region of Campania. The winery situates in the town Luogosano, enclosed by the lush countryside. It sits at a short drive away from the Piana location, at the feet of Monte Pidocchio. The vineyards of La Molara cover about seven hectares of land – both owned and rented by the company.
Yield Reduction is the Key to Success
The owner rebuilt the vineyards to grow intensive and specialized crops with a planting density of about 4000 and 6000 plants per hectares. The art of producing wines and growing vines in Irpina dates back to the time of Roman. At the end of 2002, the Morelli family found the winery La Morelli. Today, Riccardo Morelli, Neapolitan Lawyer, along with his family, owns the winery. Using their business skills and technical experience, the Morelli Family operates La Molara Winery with passion and constant hard work. The estate holds the cooperation of Pasquale Di Stasio, a professor, and a winery manager. Moreover, Giovanni Soriano manages wine production and vine cultivation in the lush vineyards.
Traditional Training Systems Support Growth of Excellent Vines
Spur Cordon and Guyot are the two methods, the owner uses for the cultivation of vines. The cultivation staff grows a vast range of vines, including rare Aglianico, Fiano, and Greco. They believe in manual harvesting of grapes. Further, they have certification in producing high-quality red and white wines along with blue-ribbon sparkling wines. If you are a wine enthusiast and want to taste some of the best red and white wines, then we suggest to plan a short trip to La Molara Winery.
