Founded in 1977 by Giuseppe Apicella upon his return to his hometown of Tramonti, the Apicella Winery stands as one of the pioneering wine estates of the Amalfi Coast. What began as a small production of just 3,000 bottles of Red Tramonti has grown into a thriving family-run business producing over 70,000 bottles and a diverse range of wines. Deeply rooted in tradition, the winery is surrounded by centuries-old, pre-phylloxera vines—some over 200 years old—cultivated on steep mountain terraces using historic pergola systems. This rugged yet fertile land is also home to the rare Tintore grape, known for imparting a rich, deep color to its wines, making the Apicella Winery a true guardian of Tramonti’s viticultural heritage.

Also in Tramonti you can find a typical variety: the Tintore grape, a red grape who is famous for giving a very deep red color to wines.
