Enjoy a fantastic view of the winery’s beautiful terrace
The Villa Raiano is in Campania’s Irpinia region, a land famous for its wine since ancient times. The winery was built in 2009 and is the hub of the wine company. The design of the building blends perfectly with the surrounding environment that includes oak woods and vineyards. From the winery’s terrace, one can see the magnificent valley descending from Monte Terminio and the Sabato River. Irpinia is a cold region in Southern Italy that has many interlinked mountains and hills.
The presence of rivers also makes the place great for vine cultivation
Hand-picking for high quality wines
The winery owns 27 hectares of vineyards, which are divided among different grapes. Viticulture in Irpinia has been done along the two rivers which run into different directions. The two white grape appellations in Avellino are Greco di Tufo DOCG and Fiano di Avellino DOCG. On the west side is the red grape appellation, the Taurasi DOCG. The grape varieties that grow in these vineyards include the Fiano, Greco, Aglianico, and Falagnhina. The best grapes are handpicked and used to make their red, white, rose, and sparkling wines.
Do not miss the special Brut sparkling wine
One of their specialty is the Brut Sparkling Wine, made with a classic method blend of the Fiano and Greco grapes. It was common in Irpinia to make wines with grapes sourced from vines in different municipalities. The grapes were combined to reach the perfect balance and taste in the wines. The wines are terroir-driven and aptly reflect the various qualities and features of their gifted terroir.
