Located in Castelvetro di Modena in the heart of the first hills of Modena, La Piana Winery draws its origins from a strong deep-rooted family farming culture. In fact, the start of the business dates back to 1951 when Cesare Gianaroli began to work and transform the grapes from his own vineyard located on the fascinating hills of Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro. The lead later passes to his son Graziano, who suddenly passes away in 1992.
Graziano at the young age of 14, with the aim of carrying on the family passion, began to work among the vineyards, renovating the cellar with the best technologies and transforming the vineyards, obtaining optimal results on the product appreciated by a vast network of both Italian and foreign customers who over the years have been able to taste, appreciate and finally buy the organic products of our world. La Piana Winery is spread over 8 hectares of vineyards between Castelvetro and Vignola, the company currently produces about 60,000 bottles distributed on 9 labels using 70% of self-produced clean energy thanks to the latest-generation photovoltaic system.
We proudly work only autochthonous vines including Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro, Pignoletto, Malbo Gentile and Trebbiano because they bring incredible charm to their place of evolution, to produce elegant and stylish wines. Our intent is to create quality wines, obtained according to natural methods and in harmony with the territory they were born in.

Write a reviewWe participated with the donation of a Smartbox, a really nice experience. We met with like-minded people and others, talked and ate together, it was really special. They explained to us how their work works and how long they have been doing it, we were able to taste the grapes directly from the plant and then we tasted their glasses accompanied by some delicious charcuterie. We recommend you stop by there to buy the wines if you want to give gifts or take them to a special evening :)

Wonderful place immersed in the Modena countryside. Getting there is easy, we chose to visit the vineyard with tasting. We were accompanied by Martina and Daniele who introduced us to the world of wine production starting from the vine to the bottle. The experience was more than enjoyable, we took advantage of it to take two of their bottles that had impressed us, which we will gladly open as soon as possible. If you pass by, do not hesitate to stop by!

Great experience on the way to Florence. We stopped by here spontaneously and were able to try wines and bought a few bottles. Taste good and varied. Competent explanations and very friendly staff. Family business. Great value for money. I would stop again! The little detour was more than worth it. Recommended for anyone who is interested in sparkling wines and wants to learn something about them and take great wine home with them. Prices between: 8-15€ per bottle
