A 15th-Century Villa Producing Traditional Wines and Olive Oil
Welcome to La Querce Winery
La Querce Winery is nestled in the picturesque hills of Chianti Fiorentino, just a short 15-minute drive from Florence. This historic estate features a stunning 15th-century villa where traditional winemaking practices come to life. Spanning approximately 42 hectares, the property is home to lush vineyards and olive groves, cultivated with minimal chemical intervention to ensure high-quality, natural products.
Vineyards of La Querce
The vineyards cover around 8 hectares and benefit from a south-facing exposure, allowing the vines to soak up the sun while enjoying a gentle breeze. The clay-rich soil of the Chianti hills retains moisture, creating ideal conditions for growing traditional grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Merlot, Colorino, and Canaiolo. These grapes are used to craft a range of wines, including Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG and Toscana IGT, as well as delightful rosés and dessert wines.
Unique Cellars and Historic Winery
La Querce boasts two distinct cellars on the estate. The winemaking cellar features stainless steel tanks for temperature-controlled fermentation, ensuring the best flavor profiles. Additionally, a unique underground space is dedicated to bottle aging, while the historic cellar houses traditional oak barrels. A tasting room is also available for visitors to sample the exquisite wines produced here.
Over the years, La Querce's high-quality wines have received numerous awards at both local and international competitions.
