La Querce -Winery using Minimal Chemicals to Produce High-Quality Products

The La Querce winery is situated on the Chianti Florence Hill facing the Impruneta. It is in the middle of the Chianti Colli Fiorentini wine region and is around 15 minutes away by car from Florence. The Villa La Querce was built in the 15th century and their wines age in this historic cellar. The estate has around 42 hectares of land with olive trees and vineyards from which they make the wines and olive oil. The land is cultivated by a combination of traditional methods and modern, innovative ideology. There is minimal use of chemicals to protect the soil and the environment and make natural, high-quality products.

The Vineyards of the Winery

Vineyards spread around 8 hectares of land and face to the south. The soil in the Chianti hills is clayey that can store water. The vines are exposed to the sun and receive a light breeze that helps during the harvest. The vineyards are planted with traditional grapes like Sangiovese, Merlot, Colorino, and Canaiolo that are used to make red, rose, and dessert wines. La Querce produces wines of the Chianti Colli Fiorentini D.O.C.G and Toscana I.G.T.

Unique Underground Room and Historical Cellar

La Querce has two wine cellars at their estate. The winemaking cellar has inox steel tanks in which fermentation of wines takes place at controlled temperatures. There is an underground room where bottles are kept for refining. Under the villa, there is an ageing cellar that has barrels, a historical cellar, and a tasting room.

The high-quality wines of La Querce have won numerous awards over the years at various local and international events.
