A Lawyer's Passion for Winemaking

Enrico Piantato, a former lawyer, turned his passion for winemaking into reality by founding Laficaia in 2013. Inspired by his grandfather, Clemente Guasti, a dedicated winemaker, Enrico expanded the winery by acquiring additional vineyards in Casalotto di Mombarruzo. He has integrated modern wine production techniques while also cultivating figs and olives, enriching the estate's offerings.

We had the pleasure of staying at Laficaia for a week, and what a pleasure it was! The hosts, Enrico, Mauro and Piera are some of the nicest people we have ever met. They are warm and welcoming, and can help you with whatever you need. There is a beautiful view from the bedrooms and pool, overlooking the cozy city of Fontanile which lies beyond the countless vineyards. The breakfast was very appetising with freshly made ham and cheese sandwiches, peach croissants, yoghurt and fresh fruits in abundance. I can’t recommend this place enough! If I could give this place 6 stars, I would!

Laficaia is worth a visit if you are in the area. 🥰 An incredibly charming oasis in the middle of Piedmont! The view offers vineyards as far as the eye can see and everything is idyllic! Our room was nice and clean, with a small fridge if you need some refrigerated items. Enrico, Mauro and Piera take great care of their guests and invite them to enjoy a delicious breakfast! They do everything to make their guests feel welcome. Not only that, of course you will also be able to buy the wines from the owner and winemaker and enjoy them while cooling off in the delicious pool that belongs to the place. A great recommendation from here! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Arrival 🤌🏼
