A Family Winery

The Leo Vanin winery is located in the Valdobbiadene area called ‘Il Settolo’ amongst the hills of the Piave River near Venice in Italy. The location of the winery is the Treviso locality. It is built around a small farmhouse that belongs to the local Mattiazo family who have owned it for over a century. The house is surrounded by vineyards that the Mattiazo brothers first planted in the area. After the war in Italy, Leo Vanin produced its first wines, partly for family consumption and partly to earn an income to buy other goods. Today the winery is still run completely by the Mattiazo family. Leo Vanin prosecco wines are made using grapes harvested on the 6 hectares of estate land that are cultivated carefully through every phase of production from flowering to the ripening of the grapes to the harvest. In the cellar the grape are manually pressed so that vinification is obtained. The Leo Vanin prosecco is a sparkling wine that is naturally fermented in the bottle. They fall under the denominations Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG, Asolo Superiore DOCG and Treviso DOC. In recent times the wine makers have also produced a spakling wine made with red wine grapes obtained from the Bordeaux blend. The products over the entire Leo Vanin range include frizzante (semi-sparkling), frizzante with natural second fermentation and spumante (sparkling) wines.
