Luggiano is located in Vinci, the hometown of great Leonardo genius, in Tuscany. The company has always been called Luggiano, same name of the place where it stands, and existed even before 1860. In 1977 it was bought of Francesco's father, Gino, and since 2009 Francesco is dedicated personally to the cultivation of vines and olives.
The vineyards and olive groves adapting to shape and size to the surrounding
environment, creating a unique panorama of extraordinary beauty, typical of
Tuscan countryside.
Winemaking Philosophy. Being winemakers and olive growers means to us passion in our job, working in harmony with nature. Because we are convinced that only from agriculture with low environmental impact can healthy plants grow, capable of producing excellent fruit that can then be transformed into good wine and oil. We are convinced that good wines shall have three necessary ingredients:
-The Ground which defines the territoriality and thus the character of wine;
-The Climate the climate, that controls the annual quality.
-The Process an accurate work in the cellar (professional but not intrusive), in
order to valorize the characteristics of the wine without changing its nature.
Our farm is managed according to the principles of organic farming. We observe
plants to understand what they need, without altering their natural rhythms; We let the grass grow in my vineyards and among olive trees to protect the ecosystem of the soil. Just in case of need, We use antagonist microorganisms or targeted treatments based on sulfur and copper.
