Four Generations of Dynamic Winemaking
Maison Maurice Gavignet – The history of this winery traces back to the 19th century. This is the property of Honoré Gavignet and his son Maurice Gavignet. He found this place in Nuits Saint Georges. He then gave this property to his son. They both follow the winemaking passion and develop the activity within the estate. Since then, the passion has allowed four generations to follow each other. Now, Arnaud Gavignet maintains the vineyard. He is the great-grandson of the founder.
Distinction and Excellence at Maison Maurice Gavignet Winery
The magnificent estate with solid knowledge and scrupulous care for the wines is what sets this winery apart. They produce the grapes of an extreme quality that gives birth to great wine. Besides, they harvest the vineyard by hand. The wines age under the vast vaults of the cellars, that brings all the power and aroma of red fruits and blackberries. The vinification process takes place in Rue Félix Tisserand in Nuits Saint Georges. They age the wine for 18 months in French oak barrels. The wines experience from 25% to 100% new oak according to the appellation regulations. The cellar master at Maison Maurice Gavigne takes particular care with extraction allowing the typicity of different soil types to shine through.
