The Art of Winemaking in Tuscany: From Grapes to Glass
Giulio, a passionate winemaker, oversees Mariottini, a family-owned winery and vineyard in the heart of Tuscany. For over two decades, he has honored his father's legacy by transforming the ancient winery into a vibrant and captivating establishment. Although the first official harvest took place in 2016, Giulio has nurtured the vineyard since 2013, ensuring its growth and quality.
From Vineyard to Cellar
Covering 3 hectares and surrounded by 6 hectares of olive groves, Mariottini is committed to organic farming practices. The winery thrives in an ideal climate, with abundant sunlight and stable temperatures that favor the growth of noble grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Foglia Tonda, Canaiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Fiano, and Grechetto. Each vine receives individual attention from the dedicated staff, and all produce, including olives, is cultivated organically.
Exceptional Wines from Mariottini
Despite its modest size, Mariottini produces a remarkable selection of wines. The winery believes in minimal intervention, allowing the natural characteristics of the grapes to shine through. With organic winter fertilization and careful pruning, the vineyard yields grapes with outstanding flavor. The winemaking process includes both traditional red and white vinifications, utilizing controlled and spontaneous fermentation methods. By focusing on indigenous yeasts, Mariottini crafts wines that truly reflect the essence of each vintage.
