Martoccia Di Brunelli, a Stone’s Throw from Famous Montalcino
The Martoccia Di Brunelli Winery sits in the beautiful Martoccia Podere, about 500 meters from the medieval town of Montalcino. It offers a panoramic view of the charming beauty of Asso, Orcia, and Ombrone valleys. The Brunelli estate currently extends to Montalcino on an area of about 20 hectares. Ten hectares of the land comes under the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG wine list where they cultivate their vines.
Sangiovese, the King Among Italian Grape Varieties
In 1964, the Brunelli Family moved to Martoccia, a small farm of about three hectares and started the cultivation of vines. Further expanding the family business in 1995, Luca Brunelli, the owner of the winery Martoccia di Brunelli, bought the land and planted the vineyards. Each hectare of this estate receives approximately 5000 vines of the best Sangiovese selections.
The Landscape Around the Winery Provides the Best Climatic Conditions
Along with Sangiovese, they cultivate the best quality vines, such as Merlot, Colorino, Canaiolo, and Mammolo. The South-west slope and favourable climatic conditions of Montalcino generate freshness, elegance, and delicate aromas. The geographical location protects the vines from the cold winds of the North and keeps the vineyards radiating throughout the day. The fertile stone soil also guarantees the quality-rich production of Red wine and Rose wines. If you are winelover and wish to taste the extraordinary wines of Martoccia Di Brunelli, we invite you to visit this beautiful winery close to Montalcino.
