Between the lush territories of Treiso & Trezzo Tinella, near Alba & Neive, a sophisticated Mèttola Winery resides. The vineyards are stretched all over the authentic Langa del Barbaresco DOCG and Moscato d’Asti DOCG regions. Today, two winemaking families, Bera and Mèttola, manage grape farming methods and wine production phases with a commitment to deliver the best quality Italian wines.
A Winery With A Tremendous History
The viticulture activity has been running in the blood of the Mèttola and Bera families since their great-great-grandfathers. The old vineyards and medieval cellar depict a great winemaking history of the two families. Initially, the ancestors of the Mèttola family used to sell wines at the tavern and in demijohns as bulk wine. Later, the Bera family started importing wines in bottles. In 1960, Italy’s transformation from an agricultural society to an industrial one forced most of the Mèttolas to live the city life, while the Beras kept themselves glued to the winemaking roots.
DOCG Wines Expressing The Essense of the Terroirs
Respecting the traditions, terroirs, and wine-lovers, the estate grows a variety of grapes with sustainable viticulture practices. The families cultivate rich-quality Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Nascetta, and Moscato in the old vineyards. Based on conventional methods and rational use of innovative techniques, a healthy production line comprises delicious red, white, rose wines and some bottles of dessert and sparkling wines.
