Mongioia was born from a family of winemakers who have been producing wine in the Langhe del Moscato for six generations. Today, Riccardo—following in the footsteps of his father Marco and his grandfather Mario—carries forward the winery's history with the very same passion passed down through time.

Growing up among the rows of vines and grape harvests since childhood, Riccardo lived and breathed the winery as a second home. From those early experiences came the desire to elevate Moscato into a new, authentic, and elegant form—one capable of surprising even those who do not traditionally enjoy sweet wines.

Continuous research and experimentation have led to the creation of innovative and award-winning wines, such as "Moscata," vinified in terracotta amphorae, and "Astralis," obtained through an ancient cloth-filtering method. Mongioia has also been a pioneer in the production of dry Moscato, offering modern and original interpretations of the grape variety.

Alongside Moscato, the winery also produces other great wines of the Piedmont region, such as Langhe Arneis and Langhe Nebbiolo, which serve as authentic expressions of the Langhe hills and the local winemaking tradition.

Every bottle tells the story of the terroir, the family's heritage, and their dedication to continuous innovation while respecting their roots.

I've never particularly loved sweet wines, except for De Bartoli, which I always hold in my Sicilian heart, but the Moscato di Mongioia struck my palate in a way that's hard to describe... soft and rich in warm, fruity aromas with a light hint of some spice I haven't quite pinpointed. 🤔 I hope to try them again soon! Thanks, Riccardo!! 🍀

Good morning. I'm reviewing your Moscato 100% DOC secco still wine, Leonhard. 2021. Purchased at the regional winery in Acqui Terme on recommendation. I didn't even know dry Moscato existed. Excellent aromas of aromatic fruit typical of Moscato, a light savory note typical of wines grown on local marl, and a very delicate and balanced palate. You can tell it hasn't tasted barrel or terracotta. I'd almost dare say it shouldn't be paired with anything, so intense is it. Truly excellent. I'll definitely try something else.

It's absolutely spectacular!!!!!!! 100% Moscato d'Asti Metodo Classico 2017 extra brut As an aperitif, it's simply perfect, different from the usual, a truly wonderful novelty. You can see the hand of a producer who puts so much passion and dedication into it: congratulations to Riccardo and his family.
