The vineyards are situated between the Ripesena Fortress and the Romitorio, a stone’s throw away from Orvieto. The Dubini Family bought the Palazzone Winery of Rocca Ripesena in late 1960. Today, after introducing so many advancements, the owner has renovated the winery, respecting the noble architecture of the historic building. Since the 1980s, Giovanni and Lodovico Dubini have been producing most significant wines of Umbria. Now, along with wine production, Palazzone consists of a boutique hotel with magnificent and well-furnished suites for guests. With a mesmerizing views of Orvieto Cliff, the vineyards stretch over an area of 25 hectares.
In the Winery, High-Quality Processing of the Grapes takes Place
Respecting the natural balance and traditional agriculture, the production staff cultivates a wide array of grapes under Orvieto Classico Superiore DOC status.They grow fruity Procanico, Grechetto, Verdello, Drupeggio, and Malvasia. Some parts of the vineyards are dedicated to the cultivation of top-quality Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Viognier, and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery is a proud producer of luscious red and white wines, along with marvellous dessert wines. The production staff manually handpicks precious grapes to produce organic wines which are stored in chestnut barrels for effective aging.
