Four Generations of Winemaking at Pietraserena

Pietraserena Winery, rooted in the rich traditions of the Arrigoni family, has been crafting exceptional Italian wines for four generations. Originally established in Liguria, the winery now thrives in Tuscany, producing renowned DOC labels such as Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG, Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, IGT Toscana, and Vin Santo del Chianti DOC. Each bottle reflects the quality of estate-grown grapes, ensuring a true taste of the region.

A Picturesque Location

Located in the enchanting San Gimignano region, the Pietraserena estate has expanded from 7 to 40 hectares, with 30 hectares dedicated to vineyards and the remainder to olive groves. The estate's first grape variety, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, holds the distinction of being Italy's first DOC-certified wine. Today, the vineyards also cultivate Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, producing a diverse range of red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines.

Wines that Tell a Story

The wines of Pietraserena embody the family's dedication and passion for winemaking. Each vineyard is uniquely named and produces a distinct wine, which is then expertly blended to create their signature offerings. The stunning Tuscan hills of San Gimignano provide a breathtaking backdrop for wine enthusiasts, making it an ideal spot to appreciate both nature and exceptional wines. The unique blends crafted here are celebrated for their character and quality, making them favorites among wine lovers.

I highly recommend visiting this place! We had a tasting in this splendid and well-kept location! Every corner really seems like a painting! The exquisite wines, the cured meats and the oil are no exception! A special mention for the guys who work in the dining room (especially Flaminia and Giacomo), very nice and prepared, above all very easy-going and capable of dealing with the public.

PietraSerena is the best place I have ever tried a glass of wine, it is a nice place with a magnificent view. Totally recommended, the people who work there are extremely friendly. Giacomo is the nicest Italian.

A Must-Do Vineyard Tour in San Gimignano The vineyard tour in San Gimignano was a perfect blend of stunning views, delicious wines, and warm hospitality. The guide’s passion brought the winemaking process to life, and the five wine tastings—from crisp Vernaccia to robust Chianti—were exceptional. The grazing board of local cheeses, meats, and olives paired beautifully with the wines. Set on a terrace overlooking the Tuscan hills, this experience was unforgettable. A must-visit for wine lovers exploring Florence!

We came here on a small tour and it was recommended. The host is very nice and gives a great tour of the winery. They let you walk the grounds and then seat you in a nice patio overlooking the hills. The views are worth it alone, but the wines were also good. We had a great time and now have wonderful photos and memories we won’t forget.
