Speechless quality. Simona gave the most amazing experience that showcase their red soil terroir. And we are so lucky to find (maybe we could say) the best red of the region.

After visiting different Istrian wineries and tasting lots of wines, I must admit that Malvazija and Chardonnay by Pilato is the best choice in this region. Family business, driven by hardworking and friendly family.

Tasted 8 wines. The power was out, clearly a busy day with many things on our minds, but the maitre, who was heavily pregnant, welcomed us anyway. Nice tasting and not all the wines were to my taste, but definitely quality. The malvais is much fresher when cold now that I drink it compared to... then, less acidic and more accessible. The Earth remains very dry. Rose, nice drink. The Chardonnay sur lie is my absolute recommendation

Small, nice winery. The tasting (6 wines) was carried out competently by the daughter of the house, a qualified engineer and oenologist. We particularly liked the red wine Cuvee, the Teran and the Malvazjia matured in wooden barrels.

Pilato wines is an amazing winery that combines excellent wines with the friendliness, warmth and care of a family run business. Karen was an amazing host and the Grand Cuvée 2015 was one of the best wines we tasted on our trip. We will be back!

Even though I am from Istria, I discovered Pilato wines through a distributor in the USA, so when I tried their wine, I decided it was time to pay the visit. First of all, it is a wonderfully warm, welcoming atmosphere. We were lucky enough that almost the entire family was there and that you got to know them and talk to them about their wine and passions, which for me, is always the best part of wine tasting. The Pilato family is kind, hardworking, and friendly people. When it comes to wines, all varietals are delicious, and no wonder they won awards at Decanter with high ratings. In the end, we also tried their olive oil, which thoroughly impressed me because I had no high expectations since I came cause of wine, but also it is one of the best Istrian olive oils I tried. All in all, lovely place, family, wines, and olive oil – a must when in Istria!

Very tasty wines and extremely friendly owners. We called at short notice and they took plenty of time for a wine and olive oil tasting. We bought a few bottles and are looking forward to enjoying them at home.

Excellent wines, whether Pinot, Malvazija or Cabernet Sauvignon... and a nice winemaking family...

A winery truly kissed by the gods ♥️ The winemaker's daughter served us 8 excellent wines from her range. We started with a light rosé 🌹, and she took us through the history of the family business. Several white and red wines 🍷 followed, and the winery finished with a muscat, as sweet as the winery's dogs 🐶. With each glass, our tongues loosened and by the end of the evening, Sandra and I were best friends. Best wishes, Tobi ✌🏻
