Trapan Winery: in the heart of Istria
Nestled in the captivating wine-region of Šišan, the Trapan Winery is located in the beautiful territory of Istria. The estate is well-known for producing 100% organic Croatian wines. Everything about the region is mesmerizing – walking through vast expanses of vineyards and getting charmed by streams of grapes with a glass of delicious wine in hand, are some of the many dazzling pleasures one can experience.
Using manual methodes
Stretching over an area of 12 hectares, the vineyards are the home of a variety of vines. The flagship grape of the winery is Malvasia, while a smaller region is dedicated to the cultivation of Chardonnay. Some autochthonous grapes, such as Teran, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, are also grown organically. The exuding aromas can hold anyone captivated upon visit. The grapes are harvested using manual methods so that the best bunches can be used for making top-class red, white, rose, and sparkling wines.
Enjoy luscious wines in a great atmosphere
The story of Trapan began in a small garage, next to the family house. Later, the owners purchased land in the southernmost part of Istria, where they established a well-equipped wine cellar.
From 2005 until today, the cellar has undergone various advancements, keeping the quality of the products high
Within the cellar of the winery, there are exclusive rooms for vinification, ageing, and bottling. Besides, a tasting room is located in the basement, where visitors can enjoy luscious wines. A barrique room is also present where wines are beautifully resting in oak barrels, giving wines a wooden essence.
