Discover a Family Winery With More than 160 Hectares of Vines in the Unique Territory of the Grave Del Friuli
A Winery in the Heart of Grave del Fruili Region
Pitars is a family vineyard in the Grave del Friuli regions, with a history in viticulture dating backing to 1644. However, it was only in 1968 that the family built a modern winery- the Cantina San Martino which produced superior white wines. Later, the name Cantina San Martino was changed to Pitars, following the destiny of the family name in the local dialect.
The Unique Terroirs of Pitars Wines
The grand 167 hectares of vineyard of Pitras winery is extended in Friuli Venezia Giulia between the provinces of Pordenone and Udine in San Martino al Tagliamentio, Rivolto, and Passariano. The aromatic grapes that give Pitars wine its quality and personality have been honored in the most significant oenological contests that grow on the unique territory, protected by the Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) Friuli Grave.
Today, Loris, Bruno, Mauro, Paolo, and the fourth generation of Pitars: Nicola, Stefano, and Alessandro, continue the rural family legacy and the craft of making good wine with pride and passion, day after day.
