The family tradition of winemaking has begun in 1872 and generation after generation, the Salvi family members are committed to wine production and management. The family is dedicated to producing quality products that reflect the characteristics of the Tuscany terroir.

Sangiovese Based Wines from Tuscany Region of Italy

Tuscany is considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. The region is famous for its landscape, high art, and for being Italian language center. The region is also a highly productive region for producing Sangiovese-based red wines. Sangiovese is delicious. Sangiovese wines come in a variety of flavors, ranging from earthy and rustic to fruity and floral.

Three white grape varieties are also grown: Malvasia del Chianti, Trebbiano, and Refola, the former two are mostly utilized for Vin Santo del Chianti, the dessert wine and Refola is used in white wine, Vermentino. These wines produced by Poggio Salvi have distinct tastes that are sure to satisfy the needs of different kinds of consumers.

Very nice wine tasting experience! Lovely and personal, in an intimate setting. Roberto told us not just about his wine but about his family’s story, the area and his business. The wines were fabulous, too! We really enjoyed it! If you’d like a light lunch, call a day ahead to make a reservation.

Roberto was super nice and knew a lot about their family business and the wines from the region. We tried 5 wines and the delicious Vin Santo for €8 and liked it so much that we took 9 bottles home. If you are looking for an accessible and personal wine tasting with good wine at a fair price: go here!
