Rui Vaz Guimarães, the driving force behind this winery, is a true local. Growing up in Guimarães, Rui developed a profound connection to nature, which inspired him to study Forest Engineering at UTAD in the 1990s. His extensive background in forest management, landscaping, and agricultural investment has shaped his approach to winemaking, ensuring a deep respect for the environment.

Making a Dream Come True

In October 2016, Rui fulfilled his lifelong dream by revitalizing the Place of the Pousada, a site that once housed 12th-century ruins. Quinta Pousada de Fora was established in the Parish of Azurém, nestled in the heart of Guimarães. Surrounded by the picturesque Minho landscape, the estate harmoniously blends history, sustainability, and authenticity.
