Experience the Richness of Tuscan Wines at Scopetone la Melina
About the Winery
Founded in 2002 by Loredana Tanganelli and Antonio Brandi, Scopetone la Melina is nestled on the southwestern slopes of Montalcino, at an altitude of 460 meters. This picturesque location is ideal for cultivating high-quality wines.
The Vineyards and Olive Groves
The estate spans approximately 5.5 hectares, primarily dedicated to the Sangiovese grape, with 1 hectare officially recognized in the Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G. registry. Scopetone la Melina produces not only Brunello di Montalcino but also Rosso di Montalcino and I.G.T. Rosso di Toscana, all crafted from 100% Sangiovese grapes. The latter is sourced from the nearby Montecucco region. In addition to wine, the estate features 3 hectares of olive trees, including Leccino, Moraiolo, and Frantoio varieties, which yield premium extra virgin olive oil. A small amount of honey is also produced on-site, adding to the estate's diverse offerings.
