A Family Winery Crafting Traditional Spanish Wines
Returning to Winemaking Roots
Sexto Elemento is a charming winery operated by the Lopez Diaz family in Venta del Moro, located in the Utiel-Requena DO of Valencia. With a century-long history in viticulture, the Lopez family initially sold their grapes to a local cooperative, producing average wines. The winery's true story began in 2000 when Rafa Lopez took charge of the family land, leading to the release of their first vintage in 2003. By honoring the traditions passed down through generations, Rafa has revitalized the family’s winemaking legacy.
Unique Wines with a Story
At Sexto Elemento, the Lopez family combines ancestral wisdom with modern techniques to create exceptional wines that reflect both history and contemporary quality. Their organic estate practices traditional viniculture without chemical additives, allowing the vines to thrive in harmony with nature. Nestled in the Mediterranean highlands of Valencia, the winery benefits from ideal grape-growing conditions, with sandy clay soils that retain essential nutrients and water. This unique environment results in longer maturation cycles and higher polyphenol content, producing wines with remarkable structure. The six-hectare estate cultivates indigenous grape varieties such as Bobal, Macabeo, Tardana, Royal, and Graciano, showcasing the region's rich viticultural heritage.
