A Winery with History

The name "Slent" dates back to 1707, attributed to French refugee Martin Pouisson. It is believed to derive from the farm's location on the lower slopes of Perdeberg Mountain, where wildlife roams freely. Established in 2005, Slent Farms produces wine under the name Ayama, which means "someone to lean on," symbolizing the strong bonds of friendship that inspire the owners.

So relaxing there. We sat on a picnic blanket under the trees while taking in the breathtaking views having a bottle... or 3 of their wine with 2 platters... will really recommend them. This was not our first visit here

After a very long drive from the southern suburbs and a huge delay on the N1 because of an accident, we arrived to be greeted by Diekie! She was alone today due to a staff shortage but she did her best to accommodate us for wine tasting and lunch. We were recommended this wine farm by Mario's Italian restaurant in Green Point as we had one of Ayama's wines while at lunch other day. The wines we tasted were top quality and the Italian menu was small with an excellent selection of Italian meals. I had the Artichoke Lasagne and my husband and friend had the lamb chops. I ended up buying 5L of olive oil, italian savoury biscuits, passata and frozen artichokes. Added 2 small liqueur glasses as well. We then checked out the accommodation on the farm. Very secluded and attractively decorated. We would love to return!

Great tasting and lunch, Justin, our host was super informative and attentive and his knowledge amazing The wines were exceptional especially their signature Vermentino wines Would definitely recommend a visit as we were recommended it by a couple of locals and may not have found it without their local knowledge

What an excellent venue to celebrate a special event with friends. We booked in for the weekend and wow what a time we had. Charne was our hostess and went the extra mile to ensure that we were satisfied, well done and keep it up! Joe and his team did an excellent job with the food and wine festival. Will definitely go back
