A Soulful Winery

The name Slent seems to have come as far as back in 1707 when it was named so by a French refugee Martin Pouisson. Although it cannot be said for sure, it is assumed that the name is derived as so because the farm lies on the lower slopes of Perdeberg Mountain. Wildlife wanders around here freely and sometimes hides from the eyes of those who work here. Slent Farms was started in 2005. The wine was named Ayama meaning ‘someone to lean on’. And this is beautiful as the owners believe their journey leans on friendship and love.

The Slent Farms Estate has the appropriate soil, micro climate and altitude above sea level which make it perfect for viticulture. It lies on the gentle slopes of the mountain giving a panoramic view to the Lion’s Head, Singla Hall and Table Mountain. Chenin Blanc, Vermentino, Grenache Blanc, Noir, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Petite Syrah grow here.
