Smallfry winery: partnership between a couple

Owned by Suzi Hilder and Wayne Ahrens, Smallfry Wines is a partnership between the couple. Both of them are viticulturists who are passionate about winemaking. Growing their own fruits and making fine wines out of them is how the couple has shaped their passion into a reality. The wines at the Smallfry stand out as they use natural ferments, nil to minimum adjustments and old oak barrels which adds to the taste.

Wines exclusively ubnder Barossa certification

Great wine comes from great fruits. The essential fruit component is harvested in the two very special vineyards, one in Eden Valley and the other in Vine Vale in the valley floor. The Eden Valley vineyard was established since 1994 and has been yielding the goodness ever since, while the Vine Vale was an addition later on.
This winery produces wines exclusively under the Barossa classification of wines.
The grape varieties produced in the vineyards of this estate are Grenache, Shiraz, Mouvedre, Cabernet Sauvingnon, Riesling, Semillon, Cinsault Bon Vedro, Trousseau, Roussane, Marsanne, Pedro Ximenes, Temprenillo,Graciano and Tinta Amerilla.

Smallfry winery are diverse wines which maybe Red wine, White wine, Rose wine, Sparkling wine, Dessert wine or Fortified wine

Biodynamic winemaking takes place

The Smallfry winery are certified as Australian Certified Organic for its Biodynamic processes in the entire estate. What makes them stand out from the rest of the wineries in the Barossa winemaking community is that they rely on wild yeast to conduct the primary alcoholic ferment. It is a rather time taking process, however, it gives a more unique, fruity flavor profile to the wines.
