Longview Vineyard, a Boutique Winery on the Outskirts of the Historic Macclesfield Township
Longview is a family-owned, single vineyard estate located just on the outskirts of the historic Macclesfield township. Towering trees, landscaped gardens, blue skies, and manicured vines make up the property’s stunning backdrop. Rural-chic architecture gives the property an Australian essence. Their new cellar door and kitchen are built with modern architecture and make Longview a crucial part of the Adelaide Hills wine route. Brothers Peter and Mark Saturno oversee the operations at the winery along with a small but highly-experienced and skilled team. They have infused an Italian style in their company. There is a lot of passion for family heritage, and they make many traditional North Italian wines and food. Since its first vintage in 2001, Longview has established itself as one of the region’s most awarded wineries.
Splendid Estate of the Winery
Their vineyards are spread over a 65-hectare land over gentle slopes and under a blue sky. The red grape varieties grow on the northern slopes where they consistently ripe while the white grape varieties grow on the southern side, where the cool area makes the grapes retain their acidity. The hard-working team makes sure that the vineyards are managed adequately so that they yield high quality grapes for their premium estate wines. The main types of grapes that grow here are Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gruner Veltliner, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir. The best grapes are used to make their award-winning red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines. Longview’s immense quality and exciting wine tourism have placed it in South Australian Tourism’s Hall of Fame.
