A Family-Owned Winery in Dão

Soito Wines is a family-run winery established in 2013 by José Carlos and Sandra Soares, two educators with a deep passion for Dão wines. Their dream was to create exceptional wines that reflect their love for the region. Nestled in Quinta do Soito, where they live with their family, this winery has quickly gained recognition for its quality and character.

Wine Tourism at Quinta do Soito

Set against a picturesque backdrop between Serra da Estrela and Serra do Caramulo, Quinta do Soito spans approximately 10 hectares, with 7 dedicated to vineyards. Located in the village of Tibalde, near Mangualde in the Viseu district, the winery has evolved into a notable wine tourism destination. Visitors can enjoy a variety of programs, accommodations, and unique experiences that highlight the beauty of the Dão region.

A Unique Winemaking Process

Designed with a focus on gravity-fed winemaking, the winery is built into the natural slope of the land, providing optimal conditions for producing high-quality wines. Soito Wines combines traditional techniques with modern technology, ensuring a distinctive approach to winemaking. Guests can tour the facility, which includes a showroom, fermentation area, storage, and the oak barrel room, where the aging process takes place.

We booked a picnic in the vineyard and could not have been happier. The owner took us on a tour were we got to see a couple of things we have never seen on a winery tour before. We thoroughly enjoyed the wines we tried, and wish that we had more room in our suitcases for more. The picnic blew us away. The view was magical, and all the food was fresh and lovingly prepared. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy life

We had a tour and a wine tasting here. Very delicious wines and everything was explained to us in detail. We learned a lot and, above all, we had a lot of fun!

The best experience visiting a winery (Quinta) that I have had in the more than 10 years that I have been entering the fabulous world of wine. Between knowing the vineyards and the winery was the best, an incomparable explanation by Vanessa, the director of mkt, and then the tasting of 3 wines, everything was unmatched... the wine that my friends and I liked the most, the 4 of us went, it was the classic white wine made with 90% crossed grapes and 10% Malvasia Fina 2023... in addition, the classic white wine Reserve was a delight... it was impossible to go and not take some wine, we left with 7 bottles... highly recommended.

Spending a weekend at Quinta do Soito was, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most memorable and enchanting experiences my family and I have had. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm and genuine hospitality that made us feel instantly welcome and at home. The property is simply stunning, with its beautifully manicured natural landscape providing a peaceful and serene setting, perfect for relaxing and disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The beauty of the surroundings, combined with the welcoming atmosphere, created the ideal setting for a family retreat. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the quality of time we were able to spend together, especially with our grandfather. Quinta do Soito provided the perfect setting to create precious memories that we will surely cherish for many years to come. Whether exploring the beautiful gardens, savoring the delicious meals prepared with local ingredients, or simply enjoying each other’s company, every moment was special. The attention to detail and effort put into ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable did not go unnoticed. The staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful, always available to meet any of our needs or wishes. In short, Quinta do Soito exceeded all of our expectations and provided the perfect setting for a truly magical family weekend. It is a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway. We look forward to returning!
