Stefania Barbot: A winery in the heart of Campania
Stefania Barbot is an organic winery located in Irpinia in the heart of Campania. The region is surrounded by Vesuvius and Pompeii Mountains, the gorgeous islands of Ischia and Capri, and beautiful coastlines. The main appellation of the area is Taurasi DOCG and the estate is surrounded by woods, olive groves, chestnut groves, and hazelnuts. The winery produces traditional wines that show the qualities and characteristics of the region. The winery is currently run by a couple, who continue their grandparents’ tradition of vine growing and winemaking.

At the beginning of the last century, Stefania Barbot winery had a cellar on the slopes of Vesuvio. Now their artisan winery has modern equipment and produces almost 20,000 bottles of organic wines from their vineyard. The vineyards are in a lovely area and a part of the estate has tall trees that are almost seventy to ninety years old. The region also produces fresh and typical local food products like cheese, olive oil and broccoli aprilatico.

The wines of Stefania Barbot
The main grape that they grow in their vineyards is Aglianico, one of the most significant varieties of southern Italy. They use it to make their principal red wine Taurasi. Grape harvesting takes place in early November using organic methods. The main goal of the winemakers is to produce typical wines with great fruit aromas and a smooth body.
