Szeleshát Estate winery: in famous Szekszárd wine region
In the city of Szekszárd in Tolna county in Hungary lies the Szeleshát Estate winery.The terroir of Szeleshát is in the middle of the previously well-known and proud Szekszárd wine region, which is 25 km long on the western side of the Danube, south of Budapest, 140-165 km away.

The property is exclusively family owned. It covers an area of 57 hectares, of which all 57 hectares are vineyards. The family bought it from more than 50 owners as smaller plots. They started viticulture and winemaking in 1998. The first capitals of the Szeleshát Vineyard were planted in the autumn of 2001, which was expanded with additional plots in 2004, 2008 and 2011 and in 2013. In 20 years, they have created an estate of 60 ha at one place. The staff at Szeleshát winery produce well balanced, elegant wines and believe that the quality of the wine depends 100% on the grape quality.

A long storage provides high-quality wines
The vineyards at Szeleshát winery have a ton of grape varieties from which only the best grapes are selected for winemaking. Some of the varieties are Welsch-Riesling, Merlot, Blaufrankisch, Cabernet franc, Cabernet sauvignon, Pinot noir, Syrah and Kadarka. These grapes are used to produce delicious, top-notch red, white and rose wines. The grapes are crushed, and the liquids extracted from them are fermented in large vats in the cellar. After this, they are aged and stored in barrels after which they are finally bottled for selling.
