Welcome to the Historic Village of Campomaggio
Tenuta di Campomaggio is nestled in the picturesque municipality of Radda in Siena, perched atop a hill that overlooks the ancient village of Campomaggio. This estate is home to an elegant 18th-century manor house and is situated in one of the most esteemed regions of Chianti Classico, renowned for its exceptional wines. The Castellani Family currently manages the estate, bringing a fresh perspective and a dedicated approach to winemaking.
Campomaggio Terroir: Elevation, Soil, and Grape Varieties
The vineyards at Campomaggio thrive at altitudes ranging from 280 to 480 meters above sea level. The soil is a unique blend of medium-textured, chalky-clay enriched with rock and stone, resulting from the natural breakdown of galestro and alberese. This soil composition allows the vines to develop deep root systems, striking a balance between effective drainage and water retention. Sangiovese is the primary grape variety, making up 85% of the estate's production, complemented by Canaiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, which account for the remaining 15%.
We invite you to experience the rich flavors of our vineyards, the earthy aromas of our land, and the vibrant colors of our wines. Enjoy a wine tasting experience that stands apart from typical tours, offering a genuine connection to the essence of Campomaggio.
