The settings of the villa date to the sixteenth century, subsequently modified in the nineteenth century. It’s architectural features, its history, and its geographical position represent the quintessential atmosphere of the past.

The ownership of the estate has witnessed a succession of illustrious figures: Vasari, the Grand Duke of Tuscany, the Baroness Fiorella Favard de l’Anglade, Earl Sidney of James (Gioacchino) Hertz, to whom the King awarded the title of Count of Frassineto.

The Estate

The estate extends  around 500 hectares, of which approximately 30 hectares have been specifically selected for the planting of the vines that give our wines their characteristic excellence.

Among its other crops, the estate has always been recognized for the production of top-quality durum wheat, other cereals oil-seed crops. The entire production benefits from a groundbreaking irrigation system fed by two artificial lakes within the property.

The Villa

The Villa, extending over around 5.400 square meters, is set upon a raised hill accessible via a striking double staircase in the shape of an exedra. A spacious park of eight hectares, surrounded by walls, encompasses the entire complex of the villa, while the area in the front is laid out as a formal garden with a lawn and box hedges. Stretching out into the vast area extending to the rear is the park proper, with precious tall trees and the so-called “Tea House”, a chalet designed in an eclectic style, a typical adornment of the romantic English garden.

Lands of the Winery

The vineyard's innovative planting technique uses prestigious grape varieties such as Vermentino, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, Semillon, Traminer, Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, and are grown in a specially chosen medium-grain terrain with a prevalence of sandy component at an altitude of 270 m.

The planting density in the vineyards is 5.500-5.600 plants per hectare, with the possibility of mechanising the majority of vineyard management operations.

The Wine Philopsophy

The idea is that the grape varieties grown on the estate are selected to express the great potential of the terrain.

This aim is pursued through attentive management of the vineyard and environmental heritage correct and natural process for the transformation of the grapes into wine that exploits the most up-to-date winemaking techniques and is designed to enhance the final product.

The Production Process

The Cellar Frassineto estate is designed with a sophisticated yet flexible process that utilizes an advanced computer system.

With these innovations, made possible by modern winemaking techniques, we are able to maintain a comprehensive understanding of all of the ingredients in our wine, allowing us to create the utmost quality product.

We visited Tenuta Frassineto twice. Nuncia presented and explained the wines to us very well. Vermentino, Syrah (Rose), Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese are typical for the variety with a very good value for money. The sparkling wines are also very nice - Champagne style. Thank you Nuncia & we'll be happy to come back!

I had the pleasure of visiting Tenuta di Frassineto in the heart of Valdichiana and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The visit to the villa park was magical, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the place and the tea house further enriched the place. This little gem, once the meeting place of the Count and Countess to drink tea, gives the park a timeless charm. I also took part in an aperiwine where I had the chance to discover not only excellent wines but also the passion and dedication with which they are produced. The atmosphere was really nice, perfect to enjoy the wines and chat in peace. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, making everyone feel at ease. If you are looking for a piece of paradise in Valdichiana, Tenuta di Frassineto is the place to be.

A wonderfully inviting, warm place that immediately invites you to stay. A very warm welcome and a first-class tour with Nuncia, our sommelier. Extremely well explained, lots of additional information and very concerned about the well-being of the guests. Definitely recommended and a really beautiful place with postcard potential. Thank you so much for the magical morning!
