Tenuta Il Falchetto: A Legacy of Winemaking
Nestled in the picturesque hills of Langhe and Monferrato, Tenuta Il Falchetto is a prominent winery comprising several sub-estates. The winery spans across the charming towns of Santo Stefano Belbo and Castiglione Tinella in Cuneo province, as well as Agliano Terme and Calosso in Asti province.
The Fornos Family Heritage
The Fornos family's winemaking tradition began in 1940 with Pietro Forno, who initially focused on Moscato grapes. Over the decades, the winery has evolved through cellar renovations, vineyard restorations, and the adoption of modern winemaking techniques. Today, the fourth generation of the Fornos family—brothers Giorgio, Fabrizio, and Adriano—continues this proud legacy.
A Diverse Selection of Grapes
Tenuta Il Falchetto's vineyards feature a diverse selection of nine grape varieties, both native and international, carefully chosen for their quality. Approximately 50% of the vineyards are dedicated to Moscato, while 30% is allocated to Barbera under the Barbera D’Alba DOC designation. The remaining 20% includes unique varieties such as Dolcetto, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Nero. The vineyard team employs meticulous winter pruning and summer thinning, followed by 100% manual harvesting to ensure only the finest grapes are selected for their wines. Tenuta Il Falchetto is renowned for its award-winning Moscato and Barbera wines, making it a must-visit for wine enthusiasts.
