Passionate Winemaking in the Heart of Tuscany
Tenuta Il Quinto spans 70 hectares in the picturesque hills of Magliano in Toscana, located in the southern Maremma region. Our vineyards, covering 13 hectares, are cultivated organically, benefiting from a temperate climate. With the Tyrrhenian Sea to the south and Monte Amiata to the north, the winery enjoys hot summers cooled by sea breezes and mild winters, creating ideal conditions for grape ripening.
Distinctive Terroir and Quality Grapes
The unique terroir of Tenuta Il Quinto is defined by its calcareous and clayey soils, rich in minerals and featuring a significant skeletal structure. This composition allows for excellent natural drainage while retaining moisture from winter rains, which supports the deep roots of our vines during the hot summer months. To preserve the integrity of our soils, we minimize the use of heavy machinery, opting for manual farming techniques whenever possible.
Exceptional Wines from Our Unique Terroir
At Tenuta Il Quinto, we respect the natural elements that influence our vineyards. Wind, temperature fluctuations, and humidity play crucial roles in vine maturation. We carefully select grape varieties based on soil characteristics and exposure, ensuring optimal harvest times through precise analysis. This meticulous approach extends to every stage of winemaking, where attention to detail is paramount in crafting our exceptional wines.
