Standing on the historical land of 1745, the Pakravan-Papi Winery is located at the base of charming hills surrounding the coastal plains of Northern Maremma, Tuscany. Enclosed by aromatic shrubs, such as juniper, arbutus, gorse, and Mediterranean oak, the vineyards are stretched all over the Bolgheri area. Under certified Toscana IGT labels, today, the estate produces single varietal red and white wines of the highest quality.

An Iranian Winemaker Running an Italian Winery with Passion

For Amineh Pakravan, an Iranian married to a Tuscan-origin husband, Enzo Papi, it was a challenge to restore the ancient winemaking traditions of the territory. But she was quite determined about the vocation. In 2000, she successfully revived the vineyards with innovative techniques, combined with conventional methods, and immediately after that, established the winery. Built with old-style churches, the design of the Pakravan-Papi Winery represents the Tuscan countryside.

A Territory where Vines Found their Natural Habitat Ever Since Etrurian Times

The micro-climate dominated by the sunshine, the Mediterranean’s breeze, and fresh terroirs enriched with minerals and well-exposed slopes are perfect for cultivating high-end grapes. Here, Amineh grows top-class Bordeaux varieties, such as Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malvasia Toscana, Chardonnay, and Riesling. Respecting the land, the grapes are handpicked and assembled carefully after a passage in wooden oak barrels.

Old Farmhouses Expressing the Essence of Pre-Historic Times

Pakravan-Papi offers hospitality in the 1740s-built guesthouses, consisting of ten apartments. They provide modern facilities, including a swimming pool, a tennis court, mountain bikes, a bbq area, and different relaxing and dining areas in the garden. Guests are invited to enjoy a unique view of the Tirrenian sea and the Tuscan archipelago islands.
