Discover the Charms of Vigna Villae

With vines immersed in the beautiful countryside of Avellino, named as Irpinia, Vigna Villae is located in Taurasi on the land of Campania. The estate is recognized as an excellent producer of territorial and structured red and white wines, aged for around 12 to 60 months. Whole production line reveals the image of the rich terroirs in which they are grown.

A Winery With a Rich History Roots

Taurasi vineyards have been in possession of the Piscopo family for many years. Initially, the family was not directly into the wine production business but was indirectly getting benefits from the vineyards. Ernesto, the grandfather, began producing several grapes, which was later acquired by his grandson, Tommaso. Expanding the family business, in 1993-94, Tommaso started making his wines, namely O Principe Taurasi DOCG, together with Blend O’RRE. He also rediscovered the ancient grape variety Coda di Volpe during his journey.

Innovation & Tradition in the Wine Cellar – Bottaia

In the cellar, one can witness various modern equipment of wine production. Rooms are built with a climate-controlling feature, whereas the stainless steel tanks are outfitted with temperature-controlled devices for quality fermentation. There is room for wooden tins where vinification occurs, followed by aging and maturation in wooden barrels, beautifully lined up in the barrel room.

The Magic Begins In The Taurasi Vineyards

Expressing the fertility and minerality of the land, a variety of vines are cultivated in the vineyards. It includes unique Aglianico, Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, and Coda di Volpe, along with some rows of Fiano di Avellino. A beautiful combination of conventional and innovative viticulture methods can be discovered upon a visit.
