An Award-Winning Winery, Located Among the Panoramic Vineyards
Nestled among the rolling hills of Colli Euganei, the Vignalta Winery of the Veneto region produces top-class sparkling, red, and white wines. The territory is the focal point for historic castles, churches, villas, and home to delicious wine and food. Vignalta, which means ‘high vines,’ is a perfect holiday spot for history lovers, wine enthusiasts, and adventure lovers. Today, the estate is the largest producer of Colli Euganei DOC and Fior D’arancio DOCG wines.
Vignalta is a Story Started in the Early 80s
Inspired by the richness of Bordeaux wines, Lucio Gomiero decided to establish a winery in 1980 and founded Vignalta. Lucio is a tactical businessman who started his winemaking journey as a part-timer. Initially an architect and then the largest radicchio grower, Lucio has become a leading winemaker and produces 20,000 cases of wines every year. He calls himself an accidental winemaker because he started vine cultivation when he planted eight acres of vineyards just for fun. But in 1986, he got the fruit of his hard work, and that’s how a true winery came to being.
Bordeaux Vines Scattered All Over the Euganean Hills
At present, the Vignalta Winery owns 120 acres of vineyards where they mainly grow Bordeaux varietals. Together with his flagship Gemola, Lucio cultivates high-end Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Carmenere, Manzoni Bianco, and Chardonnay. Some plots are the home to Moscato Bianco, Moscato Giallo, Point Bianco, Syrah, Friularo di Bagnoli, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon. Visit and discover the meticulous work of the owner and taste his luscious wines.
