Vina Vik Winery, a World-Class Wine Estate

In 2004, Alexander Vik, a Norwegian entrepreneur, proposed creating a world-class vineyard, producing exceptional wines in Chile’s Cachapoal region. In 2006 Vik gathered a team of experienced oenologists, climatologists, geologists, viticulturalists, and agronomists to search South America in pursuit of the best terroir. Eventually, an area of land was selected based on its optimal climatic conditions for grape growing and led to the purchase of 11 thousand acres of land.

The specific location chosen by Vina Vik Winery was the Millahue Valley, also known as the ‘Place of Gold’ as the indigenous people named it.

Here the beautiful winery was born, embodying the perfect fusion between man, experience, land, climate, and the most advanced technology.

Vina Vik Winery is located in the valley’s interior among innumerable gorges, offering a variety of terroir and microclimates. Each area represents a distinct exposure to cool coastal breezes giving the wines complexity and assuring some of the best wines in South America.
