Weingut Dr. Nägler is a historic winery that has been dedicated to cultivating exquisite Riesling wines for six generations. The legacy of Friedrich Nägler, who owned vineyards in the Rüdesheimer Berg, is documented in one of the oldest town registers dating back to 1826. The winery's oldest vineyard was planted in 1974, and Rüdesheim has attracted visitors for centuries, with travelers arriving by carriage, ship, or even on donkeys through the picturesque vineyards.

The Nägler family has passed down their knowledge, culture, and passion for winemaking through the generations. Today, Tilbert Nägler, Dipl. Ing., oversees the estate.

Understanding the Art of Winemaking

The Rüdesheimer Berg vineyard, located in the shadow of the Ehrenfels castle ruins, is known for its steep slopes facing south towards the Rhine. The soil here consists of stony Taunus quartzite and slate, providing ideal conditions for grape growing. This region enjoys the highest solar radiation in Rheingau, which benefits the vineyards located in the prestigious sites of Berg Schlossberg, Berg Roseneck, and Berg Rottland. An impressive 90% of the winery's 21 acres are dedicated to Riesling, resulting in wines that are elegant, mineral-rich, and possess fine acidity.

A Diverse Selection of Riesling Styles

In addition to Riesling, Weingut Dr. Nägler also cultivates Spätburgunder and Weißburgunder, contributing to a varied wine portfolio that includes red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines. The winery produces a range of classifications, such as Rüdesheimer, Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese, Beerenauslese, Berg Rottland, Berg Schlossberg, Bischofsberg, and Berg Roseneck, ensuring there is something for every wine enthusiast.
