Discover Woodstock Wine Estate: A generational legacy in McLaren Vale with a strong connection to the land
Winemaking Since Generations
Woodstock Wine Estate is a third-generation family business owned and operated by the Collett family in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Established in 1900 and named after a small town in Oxfordshire, England, the name Woodstock is Old English in origin, meaning a “clearing in the woods”.
Connections to The Lands
The Collett family have forged a strong connection to the land, nurturing the century-old vines and ancient native gum trees across the estate. Through the 1970’s and 1980’s, Doug (first generation) and Scott Collett (second generation) planted additional vineyards, replacing existing fruit orchards with Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Over years of tending the vineyards by hand using minimal impact practices, the Collett family have maintained strict quality benchmarks ensuring maximum flavor and intensity in the glass.
As Woodstock transitions from second the third-generation management, winemaker Peter Collett is committed to honoring the traditional styles produced by his father and grandfather before him.
Woodstock boasts a rustic Cellar Door, onsite restaurant and function center and has a fully enclosed, interactive wildlife sanctuary, home to native rescue animals including Kangaroos, Wallabies, Koalas and an Emu.
