A Charming Agritourism Destination in Chianti Classico with Tennis and Seasonal Pool
Set Amidst Scenic Hills, Olive Groves, and Vineyards
Quercia al Poggio is a family-owned winery nestled in the picturesque Tuscan countryside, located between Siena and Florence in Monsanto. This expansive estate spans hundreds of hectares and is conveniently situated near renowned wineries like Castello Della Paneretta and Isola e Olena. With 15 hectares of vineyards, the property features vines that thrive in both the Castellina area and the northern valley of Barberino Val d’Elsa.
A Winery with a Rich History
Founded in 1997 by Michela and Vittorio Rossi, Quercia al Poggio was originally a 19th-century farming settlement and Vallombrosa monastery. The Rossi family has lovingly renovated the estate, blending traditional winemaking practices with modern techniques. The winery also offers two residential options, Podere Cappella and Villa Proneta, each featuring four spacious apartments, a large swimming pool, and a tennis court, making it an ideal retreat for families.
Innovative Vineyard Practices
The vineyards at Quercia al Poggio are planted with a diverse selection of grapes, including high-quality Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, and Canaiolo, as well as Malvasia Nera and Malvasia Bianca. The combination of sun exposure and fertile terroirs results in vibrant, flavorful berries. Harvesting is done by hand, ensuring that only the finest bunches are selected for processing in the cellar.
