Family-Run Winery in Langhe

Agricola Molino is nestled in Treiso, a prime area for Barbaresco wines, just 7 km from Alba. Founded in 1991 by Virginio Molino, who hails from San Damiano d'Asti, the winery began with a small vineyard and winemaking facility, alongside his sons Tommaso, Franco, and Dario. Over the years, this family-run winery has expanded its production and variety of wines, while also enhancing its hospitality services for visitors.

Traditional Winemaking at Agricola Molino

At Agricola Molino, traditional winemaking techniques meet modern practices. The winery carefully balances the use of wood, ensuring it complements rather than overwhelms the wine's natural flavors. In addition to oak barrels, cement and steel tanks are utilized to maintain the integrity of the wines.

The Molino family is dedicated to crafting wines from indigenous grape varieties such as Dolcetto, Barbera, and Arneis. Notably, Agricola Molino is the only winery producing a Barbaresco with the Ausario geographical mention. This exclusive Barbaresco is made from Nebbiolo grapes sourced solely from Treiso, specifically from a vineyard planted in 1958. The wine features firm tannins and exhibits spicy and balsamic notes even in its youth, making it a unique addition to any wine lover's collection.

We had the best experience here. It’s small, family owned, not pretentious or fancy at all. We arrived super late because we got lost and got a nice warm welcome from our host Francesca. The best wines we had in the region, much more full bodied than any other around, well priced, we bought three bottles. Francesca was awesome in making us feel welcome and guiding us through the tasting. Awesome!

Excellent experience. Francesca was there for us and her explanations, her kindness, her knowledge were amazing. The wines are simply exceptional. The best we tried in Piedmont, especially the Barbera Superiore and the Barbaresco Teorema. If you go to Piedmont, stop by. It's a must.
