A Boutique Winery Showcasing the Rich Wines of Roero, Piedmont
The Story of Az. Agr. Cascina Torniero dei F.lli Migliasso
Founded in the 1950s in the picturesque commune of Castellinaldo, Cascina Torniero has been a family-run winery dedicated to tradition, quality, and diversity. The Migliasso brothers, led by Giuseppe Migliasso, began crafting wines from Arneis, Barbera, and Nebbiolo in the early 1970s, long before these varieties received their Controlled Designation of Origin. Today, the winery is managed by the next generation—Giuliano, Roberto, Silvia, and Stefano Migliasso—who oversee not only the vineyards but also eight hectares of hazelnuts and two hectares of peaches, showcasing their commitment to sustainable agriculture.
Winemaking Philosophy
The winemaking philosophy at Cascina Torniero emphasizes responsible practices in both the vineyard and the winery, prioritizing environmental stewardship and product quality. In the vineyards, the focus is on minimizing pesticide use through selective and targeted methods. This approach protects beneficial insects, which play a crucial role in maintaining the ecological balance of the vineyard, while also ensuring the health of the grapes.
With a dedication to quality and sustainability, Az. Agr. Cascina Torniero dei F.lli Migliasso stands out as a gem in the heart of Piedmont, inviting wine lovers to appreciate the unique flavors of Roero wines.
